3. Set up Model and Equipment

1. Stand your model on a table or workbench
2. Clamp its base firmly down onto the table.
3. On each floor, place the mass you calculated for the vertical load test.
4. Secure the masses in place. You can use hot melt glue, but you will probably have to replace paper floors afterwards.
5. Fix the Low-g accelerometer firmly to the top of your model. You can use double sided tape for this or blu-tack.
6. Plug the accelerometer firmly into the CBL 2. You will need to use a CBL-DIN adapter with an old Vernier accelerometer.
7. Connect the CBL 2 to your TI Graphing Calculator using a unit-to-unit link cable . Check the connections are plugged in firmly at both ends.
