Concrete is often used to construct buildings. It is made by mixing sand, cement, small stones and water together. This mixture is runny and can be poured into moulds for the beams and columns in a building. The mixture sets hard, and after a while becomes strong enough to resist forces on the building.

Concrete is also used to make dams. Much larger stones are used in the concrete for dams.
